winter holiday tag!!

 Happy 24 days until Christmas!!!

This time of year is my favorite. spending time with family, baking and cooking, wrapping gifts, hot cocoa, sending the kids out to play in the snow and christmas lights/music!!

 So i was browsing around on beautylish and came across a forum post doing winter tags/videos/tuts and decided i would post my holiday things!!!  This tag was started by Bianca who is here on beautylish and here on youtube. Im not quite comfortable yet about doing videos so ill just blog it instead.


1. Whats Your Favorite Holiday Movie? How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one)
2. Whats Your Favorite Christmas Color? red and silver.
3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas? pjs for home and dress up for family.
4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be? my kids. i would get one        big present they could share.

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House? not that i can recall...maybe this yr i will.

9. Favorite Christmas Smell? grandmas house. its like a mix of cinnamon, christmas tree and snow...i love it.

my holiday wishlist.

hello!!! the thanksgiving holiday is finally over, now we can move on to christmas!! anything you are really wishing for this year?  I have my list all prepared so i thought i would share!!!

 up first would  be a sweater knit infinity scarf.  this one is from old navy. I really love it and it would keep my neck much warmer then the light one i have now.

 From Shiro Cosmetics, i want need have to have the death note collection. death note was the first anime i had ever watched and i loved it!!!

 if someone got this for me, i would just die!!! i really want this since my others got lost in the move and water damaged. I think this would get lots of use since the kids really liked the movies and will LOVE the books even more!!!

a kitchenaide stand mixer....i would kill to have one of these. I enjoy baking and this would come in handy for cookies and cakes. the mixing bowls would be awesome for every day cooking.

i think that is about it! What are hoping  for this holiday season?

cold and flu makeup

Happy Holidays lovelies!!! i know, it's a little early for that but the brutal winter weather has already graced some of us(it went from about 75 to 49 practically overnight here.) With that being said, cold and flu season is upon us. im not for getting a flu shot, they are dangerous but that isnt for here.

I found a wonderful article on another site i frequent Cafemom about cold and flu makeup and thought i would share. I also recommend cafemom to all mommies out there. I have met some very wonderful ladies and formed lifelong friendships with them.

5 Makeup Tips for the Cold & Flu Face

It's cold and flu season (yay.), which means it's time to stock up on the tissues, the decongestants, and the beauty products. It's a little known fact, but makeup is a key ingredient when you're trying to get over one nasty bitch of a runny nose. Because when you look good, you feel good. That's what we're going with here -- if you trick yourself with a little concealer here and some lip exfoliator there, those cold and flu symptoms may just disappear.
Here are 5 makeup tips for the cold and flu face.

1. Concealer is your best friend. Dab some of the thick miracle potion on that red nose and no one will know you were up all night rubbing your face raw with napkins and paper towels since you obviously ran out of those fancy-pants lotion-infused tissues.
2. Exfoliate your lips and apply light color. Is it just me, or do your lips get mad chapped when you have a cold? Must be all the mouth-breathing due to the stuffed up sinuses. Anyway, wet a washcloth with warm water and gently rub your lips, removing all that gross white skin. Apply a chap-stick then some light, light color. We wanna keep it light because anything too bright might accentuate some of the other unwanted red spots on your poor, sickly face.
3. Moisturize and use a glossy blush. You're dehydrated when you're ill, so using heavy foundation will just look cakey. Wash with an exfoliating face cleanser and lather on the moisturizer. Use a sticky, glossy blush to add some color back into your face -- avoid blush that's powdery.
4. Water-resistant mascara. Avoid eyeshadow, it could wash you out, but don't skimp on the mascara. Use waterproof because lord knows one huge sneeze and your eyes are more watery than Victoria Falls. 
5. Wash and blow dry your hair. It's so tempting just to throw your hair in a ponytail when you're not feeling well, but a hot shower and a blow-dry will work wonders. Yeah, it takes some energy, but I find that if you take the time to do your hair, you'll feel so.much.better. It's a game-changer.
